NEWBURY VOLUNTEER
FIRE DEPARTMENT

The Newbury Volunteer Fire Department is an all volunteer fire department protecting 25 square miles with approximately 6,000 residents.  Newbury Township is mostly a rural area with commercial, industrial, and professional businesses.

The fire station is located on the south side of route 87 just east of Auburn road.  With an 11,700 square building we house 2 rescue squads, a tanker, pumper/tanker, pumper,  aerial ladder , heavy rescue, grass truck, utility vehicle, and a rescue boat.  The building also has offices, a kitchen, meeting room, locker room, and a dispatch room.

We currently have nineteen members and respond to approximately 500 alarms each year.  We provide fire, EMS, and emergency services to our community.  Our members participate in the county wide dive rescue/recovery team, the county fire investigation unit, the multi-county tanker shuttle program and the county hazardous materials response team.
